After winning the League Cup with Tottenham Hotspur in his first season, Juande Ramos received his marching from the London club after an abysmal start to the season.
Ramos has already proven himself a success in Spain, winning several trophies with Sevilla before he joined Spurs, and will be hoping for more of the same now that he has been appointed Real Madrid boss.
The former Spurs and Sevilla man is replacing Bernd Schuster who had been in the post for just over a year. Ramos has started a six month contract with the option for this to be extended.
“I would like to thank the board for their confidence - I face this job with excitement,” said Ramos. “It’s everybody’s dream. I hope I don’t let anyone down and that I achieve the successes that this club has set for this season.”
