Rooney Happy With Points

Manchester United beat Roma 1-0 last night thanks to a stunning Wayne Rooney goal. Roma were eager to impress after their 7-1 humilation last season, and despite playing well, could not get the goal.

United striker Rooney was interviewed after the game and told of how happy he was to score, and how much he loved playing in the Champions League.

"I felt good tonight. It was a difficult game. Roma came here and played really well," Rooney said.

"I think a fair result would have been a draw, but we were thankful we held on for the three points.

"The team are playing really well. If we score a goal then we've got a chance of winning the game.

"Although Roma had a few chances I think Tomasz (Kuszczak) did really well in goal.

"It's six clean sheets on the run now so we're playing well at the back.

"I love playing in the Champions League. It's a massive tournament."
