Manchester United To Sign “Superstar” In January
Manchester United have outperformed even the most optimistic fan’s expectations so far this season. Currently, they lie top of the league, despite only bringing in one player during the summer. The club and manager were slated severely for this, and major sports networks predicted a fourth place finish, behind Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. However, they’ve clawed their way to the top with just Michael Carrick as the new addition, whilst Chelsea signed three World class players in Cole, Ballack and Shevchenko.
January is approaching, and it has been said that Ferguson will finally get to sign Hargreaves, a player he has admired for some time. It had been rumoured during the summer that followed the Glazer takeover that Manchester United had a budget of £25 million per year to spend on transfers. However, it is now reported that the club have, on top of that, a £25 million “superstar” budget, for one off, big name players.
“Manchester United is the richest club in the world,” said a spokesman for the Glazer family. “If the manager feels that the right player is available, then Manchester United will always seek to secure him.”
Bayern Munich, despite claiming they would not be selling the player before the end of his contract, have now conceded that they may have to sell the player, who has made it perfectly clear he wants to join Manchester United.
Will Ferguson get the money he needs from the Glazers in January? And will Bayern Munich let Hargreaves leave? Leave your comments below.

Is Owen Hargreaves a superstar? Don’t think so a few average performances in a bad England side makes you a superstar. By that standard most players are superstars —– Luis Boa Morte, David Bentley played well in one game for blackburn > Any other “superstars” you can think of? O Stan Coleymoore
man why people like u always talk crap… i guess you would like only shevshenkos and ballacks in your team… don’t you? with a team like united with so many good players we don’t need to buy expensive players and that stuff… the only man we needed was hargreaves to complete our squad… we didn’t even need carrick but no matter about that.
I don’t think at any point in my article did I call Hargreaves a “superstar”. But do I think Hargreaves would be worth forking out millions for? Yes. Not because of his performances in the World Cup, but because he’s a good, battling player. Bayern Munich are one of the best sides in Europe, and have been for years. Hargreaves has been a starter for them for seasons. They’re no mugs, and if he can help them to successes, then I see no reason why he can’t help United.
Whether I buy in to this business about the Glazers having £25 million a season, and an extra £25 million for “superstars” is another thing though…
“we don’t need to buy expensive players and that stuff… the only man we needed was hargreaves to complete our squad…”
Er, you survive on forking out huge heaps of cash for player. 18 mil for Carrick? Gimme a break. You’ve been punching above your weight all season, it won’t last very long you skanky manc.
Absolutely Klose.
Congratulations to MU Fans, Klose is a really big star.
Ferguson is a real pro. He won’t keep his mind set on something for nothing. Adding Hargreaves might look like a normal event, but it’s going to something special to a well tuned team.
