Juve Star Snubbed Chelsea

After the disastrous situation in Italy, which forced prestigious Serie A club Juventus down in to the next division, a mass exodus of players took place. Their top stars, such as Vieira, Thuram, Zambrotta and Cannavaro, made moves to Spain and to other Serie A clubs.

Chelsea made a move for Nedved, the 34 year old midfielder, which would have put him on a higher wage. However Nedved chose loyalty, and stuck with Juventus.

“It’s true, I would have earned a lot of money, [but] something didn’t convince me enough,” Nedved told Corriere dello Sport. “I’m not regretting staying. On the contrary, I would never have forgiven myself for escaping.”
