Jol Backs Robinson

Tottenham Hotspur showed considerable grit and determination in the week, after coming back from 4-1 down to draw 4-4. Spurs keeper Paul Robinson has been criticised and put at fault for two of the goals, but Martin Jol has today spoken out to defend his player.

“Robinson said in the dressing room ‘It’s my mistake’ and held his hands up for the first goal,” Jol said.

“But he is pretty confident and apart from the awful situation against Croatia, he has not conceded any goals in qualifying for England. He will be fine.”
