Gallas Seeking Arsenal Exit

William Gallas was stripped of the Arsenal’s captaincy following a series of interviews with the press putting down his team mates. The final straw was when he revealed the bust ups going on behind the scene in the Arsenal dressing room.
Whilst still an Arsenal player, with Cesc Fabregas as the captain, reports today suggest that Gallas is looking for a move away from the club, following the humiliation of having the captaincy taken away from him.
It is unlikely the club would allow him to leave in January, but he is fancied to return to his native France at the end of the season.
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, recently gave an interview indicating that the mental battle required to get over the demotion might be too much for Gallas.
“On a human level, what happened with William was the toughest thing I had to deal with in my career because I regard him with a lot of esteem,” Wenger said. “He was stuck into a media frenzy, a witch-hunt that isolated him so much that it was becoming a handicap for the team. He has recovered the balance regarding his football. But I’m not convinced that, in his head, he has recovered his balance and the happiness to play.”
