Eriksson wants Rooney to play Trinidad
Surely Sven-Goran Eriksson will draw the wrath of Manchester United Boss Sir Alex Fergusson if and when he decides to play beleaguered Man U and England striker Wayne Rooney in Thursdays Group B match against Trinidad and Tobago.
Eriksson is ready to have Rooney play for the first time since his April 29th injury against the wishes of Fergusson and the advice from independent medical expert Professor Angus Wallace.
Rooney will not start, but Eriksson will use him as a substitute in the Nuremburg game against the so-far goal-resistant side that features former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke.
An frustrated Fergusson wanted Eriksson to wait till the knock out stages to use Rooney, however his pleadings have fallen on deaf ears as Eriksson has testified of his faith in Rooney
